Description
Cluny Door, this door is exquisite in its rugged detail and reflection of medieval architecture. This black and white treatment with selective red color enhances the details, and provides a rich red as contrast.
The Cluny Museum, also known as the National Museum of the Middle Ages,
houses many notable medieval artifacts, including sculptures from the seventh and eighth century, important manuscripts, gold and ivory pieces, and many antique furnishings. The museum also owns a fine collection of tapestries of that era, including "The Lady and the Unicorn," a series woven in Flanders and made of wool and silk, considered among the finest works of art from medieval Europe.
