Heidelberg Castle is a famous red sandstone landmark that dominates the hillside above Heidelberg, Germany. The castle ruins are among the most important Renaissance structures north of the Alps. The earliest castle structure was built before 1214 and later expanded into two castles circa 1294. In 1537, a lightning-bolt destroyed the upper castle. The present structures were expanded by 1650, before damage by later wars and fires. In 1764, another lightning-bolt caused a fire which destroyed some rebuilt sections.
In his book, A Tramp Abroad, Mark Twain described the castle as "deserted, discrowned, beaten by the storms, but royal still, and beautiful."

Welcome to my gallery! I am the proud owner and creator of Pamorama Photography®, a Southern California photography business. I often combine photography with travel and outdoor activities. I seek to capture exceptional images of the world as I see it. I look for color, texture, and light as I photograph nature, architecture, sunsets, sunrises, seascapes, landscapes, events and more. I want my clients to experience my images with the feeling that they are present in the moment. I have created custom art by adjusting the detail, palette, and colors to suit decorating requests. I have had a lot of success with printing on metals and acrylic, and using light boxes. To consult about a custom version of one of my images, please send...
