Description
Severin Bridge with a view of the unique Kranhauser buildings (Crane Houses) in the background.
The Severin Bridge was the first new bridge built across the Rhine River after World War II in Cologne, Germany. Trains, cars and pedestrians use this bridge. In the vicinity of the bridge are three buildings in an upside L shape that resemble the harbor cranes that were once used to unload cargo from ships. The buildings were designed by Alfons Linster and Hadi Teherani; construction was completed in 2011. Two of the buildings are used for office space, and the third has luxury apartments.
