Bamberg, Germany, is in Upper Franconia (northern Bavaria) on the Regnitz River and the Main-Danube channel. Known as Franconian Rome, Bamberg is built on seven hills, each hill has a church or a castle. Bamberg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Neue Residenz, built 1698-1704, was occupied by the prince-bishops. The property has an extensive Rose Garden with views of the city.
